Q. What are the law programmes that you offer and at what levels?

A. There is a difference between studying law in Israel and in India. In India, all the case laws are being dealt in English and the academics is also being delivered in English. In Israel, the case law are in Hebrew. We had a huge battle in Israel trying to launch a full LL.B degree in English which initiated a language war between people protecting Hebrew language and others supporting English. Eventually, what we currently have is a bilingual programme in LL.B which is half taught in English and half taught in Hebrew. We also have a regular Hebrew programme. We also have an LL.M.

Q. In India we have a five-year integrated course and a three-year LL.B after a basic degree. What about CLB?

A. In Israel, we also have a dual degree in law and business, LL.B and BA in Business Administration. In India it’s five years and in Israel it’s only four years. So, in four years you can have a joint degree. We also collaborate with institutions in America like we have collaboration with American Business School where our students study two years in Israel and then they go for one-year exchange programme in America. We have an exchange programme with Harvard Law School’s clinics. Students from Harvard come to our immigration clinic for internships and we send students to Harvard to practice law in their immigration clinic during the summer.

Q. How does studying law in your college, equip one to deal with international laws?
