The type of sex ed you get in school can vary depending on where you live. While some teens are taught about everything that relates to sexual health, others get no info at all—or worse, are told things that aren’t true. Up until last year, educators in California were obligated only to provide information on HIV prevention. That state’s Healthy Youth Act now requires schools to provide comprehensive sex education. Here, Leslie talks about why she decided to make sure her California high school obeyed the new rules.
