I want to do something romantic for my husband on our first anniversary, but I’m blanking! Do you have any good ideas?

A_ Many women (and men) are guilty of making this mistake: They think romance means fancy, which can make a partner feel uncomfortable and turn anniversaries into one-upping competitions. Pass. Instead, aim for something nostalgic and personal to your relationship. Good: a dinner at your favorite date spot, followed by a trip back to the bar where you made out by the Big Buck Hunter machine. Better: a road trip to see a band you both love, playing in a city nearby. Even a brief adventure— say, an overnight stay at a cozy hotel on the other side of town— never hurts. There are few things more romantic than a new, inviting-looking bed.
