Tara Lytal: Come To Clinton

“My parents moved to Clinton in 1965 to take teaching positions at Mississippi College,” says Lytal. “I grew up on the campus attending the theater, concerts, sports events, and more.”

After graduating from Clinton High School, she attended Mississippi College and earned a degree in interior design and a master’s degree in public relations. For 17 years, she worked professionally as an interior designer before joining Main Street Clinton in 2007 as its first director.

For the last 10 years, Lytal has worked to enrich the lives of Clinton’s residents and also to promote the city as a destination for tourists. For her leadership, efforts, and accomplishments, she was recently named the 2017 Outstanding Main Street Director. “I am thankful to Mississippi Main Street Association for this recognition,” says Lytal. “I was honored to receive the award, and I know that it would not have been possible without the many friends who worked alongside me to make our community the best it can be.”
