Cities like Pune, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Vijayawada, Patna, Indore, Bhopal, Guwahati, Kanpur, Varanasi, etc, are included under this expansion plan. Some of these projects are being undertaken through the public-private partnership (PPP) model, where state governments are actively inviting proposals and are equally supported by the Centre, based on project feasibility.
