Every time you look at her you can’t look away.
She seems to be growing more beautiful with each passing year, easing into a mellow grace. There’s something overpowering, overwhelming about Madhuri Dixit. She’s constantly on the bounce, willing to push her limits, willing to try something new. We last saw her on screen in 2014. Both her films Dedh Ishqiya and Gulaab Gang released in the same year. Her performances were impressive in both.
She’s currently all set to make her debut in the Marathi industry with Bucket List, a Karan Johar production directed by Tejas Vijay Deoskar and starring Sumeet Raghvan, Renuka Shahane, Sumedh Mudgalkar and Krutika Deo. You wonder whether she keeps a bucketlist in real life too. She laughs at that and answers in the affirmative. She mentions that doing a Marathi film, in fact, topped that list. She recollects a memory of a cologne ad where a handsome model with washboard abs was surfing the waves oblivious to everything else. She too wanted to experience that sense of abandon against the sea and surf. She recently got a chance to do so while vacationing with her sons Ryan and Arin. “My kids were learning surfing. I tried to learn as well. I could barely stand on the board for may be two seconds but I was like, ‘Yay … I did something’!” she says. “So, my bucket list keeps changing and as things get ticked off, I add new things to it. I love challenges and I try different things,” she smiles. She mentions that apart from acting in a Marathi film she’s producing one as well. The entertainer’s called 15th August and is based in a Mumbai chawl. Starring Rahul Pethe and Mrunmayee Deshpande, the film also features actor-producer, Adinath Kothare. It’s directed by Swapnaneel Jayakar.
