Queen Of Crooners

For me the biggest highlight of the Filmfare Middle East launch, held in Dubai recently, was Usha Uthup singing some of her smashing hits down the ages.

And to our good fortune, the original item girl, Kalpana Iyer, who danced to all these songs like Rumba ho, Koi yahan aha nache nache, and Hari Om Hari was in the audience. She joined Usha Uthup on stage, making the evening come alive with the ’80s swag. I had grown up hooked to these songs and was in ecstasy reliving those memories, as was the audience.
