Siblings by chance, BFFs by choice – these sisters share a dynamic that’s all kinds of #goals
I have often found myself wondering: What would it be like to have a sister? Would we be soul sisters with limitless access to each other’s wardrobe? Would she be the chalk to my cheese? Would I be jealous? Or would she be my BFF in a world of transient BFFs? I grew up surrounded by girlfriends who shared a strong relationship with their sisters. I have an older brother, and to me having a sister was always a thought filled with longing.
I find myself pining for one all over again, on a balmy summer afternoon at Mumbai’s Mehboob Studio. For Grazia’s 10th anniversary we are shooting with sisters Sonam and Rhea Kapoor to celebrate this incredible milestone. Incidentally, Sonam has been on the cover of our anniversary issue three times in the last 10 years. “Can you believe how old I am?” she quips. “I’ve been celebrating with Grazia for 10 years!” Except this time, we also have her other half – ‘Rhee-bee’ as she calls her – by her side.
While Rhea Kapoor is a powerhouse on the set – her energy contagious and voice bellowing – Sonam seems like her antithesis, quiet and reserved. But that’s only until their gal pals crash the sets for a quick photo sesh with the duo. If you follow them on Instagram, you’d know that this covetable girl gang consists of designer Masaba Gupta, chef Pooja Dhingra, entrepreneur Samyukta Nair and designer Shehla Khan. The set turns into a boisterous, stylish riot upon their arrival, with inside jokes being exchanged, as cupcakes courtesy Dhingra do the rounds.

GRAZIA MOST LOVED BRANDS 2024
What makes a memorable product? And what is it that keeps us going back for more? These are some of the questions we often find ourselves asking in a saturated consumer economy, where it has become increasingly difficult to tell the premium apart from the passable. The most reliable yardstick in this regard is how a product makes us feel. This is not limited to user experience, but also extends to the overall brand ethos. We're using our years of expertise and understanding of the industry to curate the coolest young brands that resonate with today's conscious consumers. Presenting the third edition of Grazia Most Loved Brands.
