Captures The Sufi Spirit Of Eternal Peace In Her Art

At the rooftop of Taj Mahal Palace and Towers, Mumbai, with the view of the sea all around, Sufimusic in the background, and a whirling dervish for company, several known faces came together to experience a new kind of peace.

This was the tranquility or bliss that radiated from artist Radhika Seksaria’s latest collection titled Sukoon. Inspired by the Sufiphilosophy of eternal love and devotion, and Radhika’s own quest to create art that is always positive and meditative, Sukoon was admired by several art connoisseurs, industrialists and many members of the city’s swish set.

Over hors d’oeures and chai, they soaked in each painting that had several elements of Sufism and Radhika’s love for Rumi’s poetry. The Sufipoet and mystic has been the source of inspiration for many of Radhika’s paintings. In fact, her last collection titled Ruminations emerged completely from Radhika’s immersion in his words.

Radhika’s artistic journey started in childhood itself, when she won several prizes for her art in school. Later, after marriage into a prominent business family, she moved to Mumbai, and continued to pursue her passion for art.
