So how does Sadhguru react to his gigantic fan-base, whose presence is as palpable as high tide on a full moon night? “Sadhguru is not a title. It’s a description and not an identity. Like when you go to a doctor, you go to a pediatrician or an orthopaedic depending on what you need. When someone says ‘Sadhguru’ it means that you don’t go to him to learn scriptures, you don’t go to him to learn pujas, you don’t go to him to buy a ticket to heaven because he doesn’t know any of those things. The description is used so that people don’t come and embarrass me by saying ‘Sadhguru, can you recite a shloka or the Vedas,’ that’s why I use ‘Sadhguru’ which means an ‘uneducated’ guru. There is only one thing – he (Sadhguru) knows and it is this piece of life in its entirety (pointing to him).
