Q Dear Nisha

As a university student, I’m soon going to share a two BHK apartment with a friend. My bedroom is small. So, could you suggest a smart solution to decorate it without overcrowding it?

I shared a flat through my university stint in Los Angeles, and yes it was very exciting but my bedroom had to multitask through all my activities. From study, to private entertainment, to a tiny eating space when I wanted to be alone and even a mixing station. A room has now morphed into a private lounging area, a room we snapchat in and of course, enjoy that private therapeutic time of study and snack on days we don’t want to get out.

So, it is a room we really need to put some more thought into, to make it into that retreat like sheltered private sanctuary to recharge tired batteries. It should be an atmosphere of study, comfort, hanging out with a friend or two and that inimitable feeling of being in a home away from home. Your university room can then become that escape retreat where you would unwind after a rushed day.
