2018 Porsche Cayenne

The 2018 Porsche Cayenne that debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year goes on sale in the global market this month, followed by its Indian launch by July. The third generation Cayenne brings plenty of new technologies to the table which contribute towards making the car lighter, more powerful and cleaner from the emissions standpoint. Its basic underpinnings are similar to that of the Audi SQ7 and the Bentley Bentayga, but are heavily modified to achieve Porsche’s trademark driving dynamics.

At the heart of the Cayenne are three new engine options - a base-spec 3.0l turbocharged V6 petrol, a 2.9l bi-turbo V6 petrol in the Cayenne S and a 4.0 bi-tubro V8 in the range topping Cayenne Turbo. Power and torque outputs are up throughout the range and subsequently the 0-100 sprint times are quicker than ever with the 550PS Turbo topping the list at 3.9s. Diesel engines will be introduced this year around the same time when the car goes on sale in India. Porsche has also developed a new eight-speed gearbox with an input torque capacity of 1100Nm. The drivetrain can vector torque and alter output parameters depending on the road conditions in order to maintain optimum fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.
