New Delhi-based Organic Apparel Brand The Pot Plant Has A Modern, Genderfluid Take On Clothing. Cofounder Resham Karmchandani Chats With Tina Thakrar About What Makes The Brand Tick.
Inclusive, fuss-free, unrestrained, breathable, fluid, handmade; The Pot Plant doesn’t just craft clothes, it crafts a lifestyle. The apparel brand is organic, in its outfits as well as modern approach, and does not believe in setting boundaries on what ‘correct’ clothing is, how it is worn, and most importantly, who is wearing it.
Set up by Resham Karmchandani and her partner Sanya Suri in 2015, The Pot Plant is all about “easy separates that transcend places, seasons, and wardrobes.” Its most important characteristic is that it’s inclusive – of all genders, crafts and styles.
“We try to make silhouettes as fluid as possible but it doesn't really matter. If a woman wearing pants is acceptable then why should men shy away from wearing skirts! Gender fluidity in clothing is more than just clothing. It's a movement to let people be who they choose to be,” states Resham.
