Does the immensely powerful Volkswagen Golf R have everything you could want from a car?
If you’re a driving enthusiast requiring a car that can pull duty as a regular family wagon and also be fun and exciting to drive, few come close to the Volkswagen Golf R, which has been designed from ground-up for just this purpose.
WHAT'S NEW
While most people would be familiar with the Volkswagen Golf GTI as the all-round performance hatchback that has enthralled generations of driving enthusiasts, the Golf R is a comparably younger variant that takes the performance of the GTI to its peak potential.
Delivering 290hp through a seven-speed Direct Shift Gearbox and four-wheel drive, the car is one of the most powerful production vehicles currently available in this category. Almost three times as powerful as the base model VW Golf, the R covers the 0-100km/h sprint in just 4.6 seconds. By comparison, a new Honda Civic takes 11.6 seconds to reach 100km/h.
