Scott Bain believes that Celtic’s strike-force will scare opposition defences
SCOTT Bain is able to appreciate the striking talents of Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard at close hand on a daily basis when he attempts to shut them out at training. So he’s thankful to be able to admire Celtic’s twin French strike-force during games, doing so again on Saturday as both players scored in the 4-1 friendly win over Standard Liege.
Edouard opened the scoring with an exquisite strike from the edge of the box before Dembele doubled the lead with a sublime chip over the Liege goalkeeper.
Both players caused countless problems for the visiting defence throughout the first 45 minutes of the match. And Scott Bain believes that Liege are only the first of many defences, both domestically and in Europe, who could suffer from the potency of Celtic’s Gallic goalscorers.
“The two of them have got everything,” the Hoops keeper told the Celtic View. “They’re strong, they’ve got power, pace, they’re both great finishers and they have a really good understanding of how to play together. I think they could scare a few teams this season.
