Darcy McFarlane is delighted to have joined Celtic and she’s setting her sights high when it comes to achieving success with the Hoops
The midfielder, who graduated from the University of North Carolina with a BSc in Business Administration at the end of 2016, was keen to pursue her football career abroad and jumped at the chance to join the Celtic Women’s team when the opportunity arose.
She signed for the Hoops at the same time as fellow America, Jaclyn Poucel, and both players immediately slotted into the squad, helping the Hoops record an impressive 1-1 draw with reigning champions, Glasgow City on their debuts.
Speaking to the Celtic View, Darcy explained that the club and their team-mates have made the transition a relatively smooth one.
“We’re settling in really well,” she said. “We just got here a few weeks ago - we actually arrived on my birthday so that was really nice. Everyone has been so welcoming and friendly so far, I already feel like we’re a part of the club and the family.
“We really like the city of Glasgow and training is going really well. We’ve had a couple of good games too, so we’re definitely settled in.”
