The partners in life, as well as business, have one thing in common. They are design and art lovers. Therefore, even after retiring from their former occupation, they decided to work towards their passion. Both have an inclination in the business of renovation and that’s why their firm Studio Margeza purchases old apartments, redesigns them and puts the home for sale again.
The couple’s apartment is situated in the historical center of Budapest, in a building that was built in 1928 and was divided into four apartments. Showcasing the most beautiful view of the city such as the iconic building, the Parliament and the river that splits the city, the husband-wife duo’s clever consideration was to show this off beautifully. “We decided to follow one rule that let’s not conform to any rules. However, the characteristics of Margeza style can be seen everywhere: joyful, energy filled colors that give an atmosphere of happiness,” smiles Margit. But was it easy to achieve what they have in their home today? “The major challenge was to get professionals who can work as high as we were expecting,” laughs Geza. The building has a small, yet beautiful garden, which can be seen through the larger-than-life window in the living room, which Margit feels is like an open cinema. “It shows the ever-changing face of the city and not to forget that the entire apartment is flooded with natural light because of glass windows,” sha
