The Profoto Studio A1 Light is distributed in India by Srishti Digilife
Profoto AB is one of the leading manufacturers of high end lighting systems. Based in Sweden (the land of Hasselblad cameras) the company is more than 50 years old. It is known for its sophisticated and dependable designs. Their products include a range of studio TTL (Through The Lens flash auto-exposure) strobes that are compatible with cameras from all leading manufacturers. The model A1 is from the same family and it is available currently in Nikon and Canon compatible versions with more expected.
Design & Build Quality
The A1 looks somewhat similar to a conventional shoe mounted portable strobe. However, the similarities end there and looks as everyone knows can be deceptive! The head is circular and is rather large with a specially designed lens. These features contribute to much better quality of light as it is, without the use of any light modifiers. This strobe also uses a rechargeable Li-ion battery as the power source. This offers many advantages over the conventional batteries. The build is very robust and heavy duty.
