Writer Amy Nelmes Bissett’s guide for taking bub on tour
Babies make the perfect travel companion, so when my firstborn Max arrived, I decided to take advantage of my maternity leave and pack in the adventure. And 40,000 kilometres later, I sure have a tip or five on how to travel with a little one!
1 Flight bag saviour
Stress-free flying with a baby comes down to one thing – being organised. And those baby-bag rucksacks are sanity savers. I always jam-pack the outer pockets with spare dummies, pocket-sized wet wipes, a rolled-up muslin wrap and bottles. And inside, I always double my essentials. A restless bub will drink more and that means extra nappies, wet wipes and formula if they’re off the boob. And I always carry a spare outfit for Max. Mid-flight vomits do happen and they are sometimes ferocious!
