Iconic rooftop garden closes after 37 years

Kensington Roof Gardens, the internationally famous leafy nightlife and recreational venue in the heart of London, has closed. The decision to shut the Grade II listed haunt, part of Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Limited Edition portfolio, was due to “unpredictable market conditions and a challenge to remain profitable”. The 85 staff were informed of the final decision last month after a period of consultation.
