Sheila Cosgrove, 51, a project management consultant in Riverton, N.J., has been involved in a pet rescue network on Facebook for nine years. “We learned about this puppy mill in upstate New York, where at one time there were over 100 keeshonds,” she says. Fortunately the group has since managed to save most of the dogs, including Kasey, who joined Cosgrove’s family—husband Bob, 57, daughter Gabby, 12, son Jack, 13, two rescue cats, a rescue dog and a new keeshond puppy—in October 2016. Now the world is seeing just how special Kasey is: After nearly 7,000 entries and two weeks of voting, she’s the winner of People’s World’s Cutest Rescue Dog Contest, presented by Pedigree.
