As They Show Off Baby Henry Just 4 Days After His Birth, the Reality Stars Say They’re Just Getting Started: ‘We Definitely Want a Lot of Kids’.
It’s just before lunch at Jessa Duggar Seewald’s Arkansas home, and the mom of two is getting a crash course in multitasking, breast-feeding her infant son Henry Wilberforce while simultaneously having her hair and make up done up for a People photo shoot. Her husband, Ben, playfully chases after the couple’s 15-month-old son Spurgeon as he wiggles off the couch and heads down the hallway. “I take one. He takes the other,” Jessa says of their tag-team parenting strategy since welcoming anew baby four days earlier. Ben com-pares it to sports. “Right now we have two kids and there’s two of us, so it’s man-to-man coverage,” he says. “When we have more, we’ll have to switch it up to a zone defense!”
Though having two children under the age of 2 would overwhelm most parents, for the Seewalds, adding even more children to their quickly growing brood is something they’re already anticipating. “You can’t really describe the love that you have for your children,” says Jessa. “Before the new baby I would think, ‘How could I ever love another child as much as I love Spurgeon?’ But the second I saw him it blows you away. We definitely want a lot of kids.”
That isn’t exactly a surprising statement given the mega family in which Jessa was raised. The fourth of 19 children born to Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, Jessa, 24, first found fame alongside her siblings on her parents’ TLC reality show 19 Kids and Counting. Now she’s on her way to following in her famous parents’ footsteps with back-to-back babies of her own. “My mom always says, ‘Love doesn’t divide, it multiplies,’ ” says Jessa. “It’s so true.”
