The three-day fair is expected to be attended by 500 plus companies from India, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, Taiwan and China. The strong foreign representation emphasizes the high level of internationality of the expo. With the presence of numerous quality, international and local exhibitors, trade visitors can easily locate optimal suppliers of whatever products they need in the sectors through this one step business trading platform.
According to the organizer, Agra Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Chambers (AFMEC), the event is not just for product exhibition but is also a platform to strengthen supply chain, build new business relations, capacity building and technology exchange. The expo will also help enrich the knowledge base of entrepreneurs and create a learning opportunity for students training at footwear institutes.
AFMEC president Puran Dawar says,“Agra is the country’s biggest footwear manufacturing hub of the country with 65% share in the domestic market. It manufactures and exports 28% of the total shoes exports. Meet at Agra (MAA) is a perfect platform for the entire industry – manufacturers as well as component suppliers.” The overseas pavilion was introduced at ‘Meet at Agra’ in 2014. The AFMEC office bearers said there has been an overwhelming response from the participating countries in the fair every year. This year, 240 stalls will be set up at the fair.
