Geetanjali, who hails from Gangtok, started modelling after finishing her graduation from Kolkata.
For further studies, she moved to Delhi where she started getting more offers. In 2007, she won the Mega Miss North East pageant. She was also chosen to endorse many well-known brands. In one particular L’Oreal ad, she was featured alongside Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Her first acting opportunity was a film where she was cast opposite Ranvir Shorey. However, the film got shelved. She then met experienced people in Mumbai who introduced her to casting directors and co-ordinators. She gave auditions and was selected for the film ID, which was released in 2012. The film premiered at the Busan International Film Festival, Busan, South Korea. Geetanjali won the Best Actress award for her role in this film at two international platforms - Los Angeles Film Festival and Madrid Film Festival.

But, as I said, the transition has been quite smooth–no hang-overs, no regrets. People have been very positive in their interactions. Government departments have been responsive whenever I have approached for assistance.The genuine respect for the uniform is quite evident and it makes my heart swell with pride. Arunachal, to that extent, is the most nationalistic state in the country, I daresay.
