Benji Bennett
All About: Adam's Cloud

Roberta: Congratulations on the success of the Adam’s Cloud series! Irish readers love the stories. What is the main thing you want readers to take away from the books?

Benji: The last 10 minutes you spend with your baby before they go to sleep could possibly be the most important 10 minutes of their day. When you read to your baby they will feel the warmth of your embrace as you hold them gently in your arms. Your soft soothing voice, filled with expressions of love and affection, travels through their delicate little ears bringing life and happiness to every cell in their little developing brains.

R: Reading is such a special way of parents bonding with their kids and having quiet sit down time together. Do you still find time to read with yours now that they are a little older?

B: I have always read to my kids and feel I am reaping the many rewards every day now that they are older. I have also encouraged independence in my children from an early age and reading for themselves was high on the list. When they were younger I would often narrate a book and get them to read the sentences of their favorite character. This was particularly good fun when I would read with Robbie and Molly at the same time. With their funny voices at the ready they would eagerly wait for their character to say something in the book mixed with giggles they would deliver their lines with animation and sparkle.
