Healthy Life Just A Click Away!

Diabetes Health team takes a closer look at the utilities of the app in tracking those highs and lows!

Healthy Life Just A Click Away!

App explained

The word app is an abbreviation for 'application'. It is a software program designed to provide comprehensive information on a specific subject. An app eases the task by providing smooth functioning in a user-friendly manner. Apps are easily accessible from anywhere through simple everyday devices such as mobile phones, tablets, computers and even smart watches. An app bridges the gap between a user and the desired information with its easy dispense and availability. Downloading an app is usually cost-free but sometimes carries minimal charges for download.

E-healthcare on the go

With consistent digital evolution, technology is now used in the most advanced and exciting ways, one of them is e-health. Technology helps in day-to-day life in measuring health parameters, level of activity, dietary patterns, quality of food etc. E-health enables a person to know his/her bio-markers and improve them. The other aspect of e-health is connecting the doctors and insurance companies to the individual while he/she is at home or at some remote place.

E-health enables healthcare centres, whether clinics or hospitals to connect, gather data from the patients and intervene even when they are located remotely. This helps the healthcare team to locate the problem areas before the actual condition surfaces and thus helps prevent the condition. This promotes doctor-patient interaction, especially in conditions like Diabetes. When a caregiver or a doctor can intervene in real time and make sure that the medicines, diet and exercise are taken correctly then the chance of future complications is minimised. Technology can help transform health care from treatment and management to preventive care.
