It’s hard to not to glimpse at the new Asus ZenBook 13 without being amazed by how small it truly is especially when held. Not only is it 14% smaller than the previous generation UX331 but also has a footprint lesser in size than an A4 sheet making it the smallest 13-inch laptop in the world.
The metal finish on the lid is elegant yet not garish to detract from operating it in a professional environment. We got the top-end model in Royal Blue colour that looks suave paired with the Rose Gold trimming above the keyboard. Speaking of, the backlit keys make it suitable for night time but the cramped spacing is the biggest casualty of the miniaturisation. The layout took some time getting used to but the tactile feedback and travel was on point. The USP is the trackpad doubling as a number pad lighting up in neon blue once the top-right corner is pressed with sufficient force. While it works as intended, it will remain a cool novelty for most to show off. The smooth gliding and responsive gestures on the trackpad itself were accurate although it felt a tad short when navigating. The screen is absolutely gorgeous flanked by ultra thin bezels on the sides and top even housing an embedded HD IR webcam.
