Holiday? What Holiday?

I HATE packing. Trying to pack for a family of six is the ultimate holiday passion killer. I remembered why I never go on holiday after the two-day Marathon suitcase scramble before we left for the New Forest. It’s not the packing that is the painful bit, but all the daily washing, cooking and tidying that is required in between. It’s like trying to feed a hungry newborn baby as well as cook a cordon bleu dinner party for 12. Impossible in other words.

Though we did actually leave the house for Hampshire, the holiday I have booked for the October half-term was cancelled before we left. This was not due to valise fatigue but as a result of a new family member we will have welcomed to our home by the time you read this — Sigmund the border terrier puppy.
