COSMETIC CHEMIST AND FOUNDER OF SYNERGIE SKIN

Feeling confident in your own skin starts with the right skincare – something female cosmetic chemist Terri Vinson is both passionate about and an expert in. She chats to WH&F about developing her Australian company dedicated to the long-term health and vitality of your complexion. Her purpose? To help you feel beautiful from the inside out.

Terri Vinson

I developed Synergie Skin after noticing a significant gap in the cosmeceutical arena. I wanted to create skincare and mineral makeup products based on ‘clean science®’ by harnessing the very best of safe scientific innovations and naturally derived ingredients. Supported by science and education, I wanted to offer active cosmeceuticals that produce a visible and perceivable change to the skin.

As a female cosmetic chemist, I also saw the importance of educating consumers with science-backed information through my videos and blogs, so they feel confident about their skincare choices.

My best tip for maintaining healthy skin is to always wear sunscreen. Even though SPF measures UVB (burning) rays, the ageing and deeply penetrating UVA rays are still intense – they can even penetrate glass and clouds. UVA is responsible for causing skin cancers, so it’s important to use a broad spectrum sun protection moisturiser or mineral makeup. Preferably a product with a minimum of 20 per cent zinc oxide to give optimal UV protection during the day.
