Equality Is An Utopian Concept Either In Personal Or In Social Life

Mrs. Laxmy R. Narayan, believes equality is an Utopian concept either in personal life or in social life. Because in modern world, we practically feel the pinch of inequality in every walk of life. There is ubiquitous presence of inequality in income, status and treatment not only between men and women but also in the same sex.

Laxmy R. Narayan

Equality before God is a generally accepted moral principle which is a rarity in everyday life. In places of worship, we commonly observe preference being extended to devotees under different categories of ticket-holders. Inequality is not only a way of life but also a business proposition.

Equality may be a good idea for our purpose of relationship. In many families, where there are more number of men than women, male domination is visibly seen and also vice versa. This is true irrespective of the financial condition of the families. The attitude of men and women towards each other is not impartial and this affects the relationship.

It is not correct to hold that husband and wife relationship is beyond any such inequality. If both of them are earning members, it is but natural that income barriers will interfere and affect the smooth-sailing. Unless both of them have very clear understanding of each other, this inequality may even go to the extent of separation.
