‘I CAN HEAR MY EYEBALLS MOVING!'
Tenika suffers from a rare disease that had doctors baffled

When Tenika Nicotra started hearing strange noises in her head while she was at work, the Perth nail technician thought she was going crazy.

What started off as a blocked ear had turned into a strange sound. At first the 24-year-old could hear her own heart beating very loudly. Then she started to hear a noise that she likens to “a marble rolling across the floor”. Tenika noticed it would get louder every time she turned her head and moved her eyes.

“That’s when it clicked – I was hearing my eyeballs moving... I was so freaked out,” she says.
