Sew up this Australian-inspired toy for a little one to love

Finished size: 26 x 26cm

YOU WILL NEED

  • Access to a photocopier

  • Tracing paper and pencil

  • 30cm of 150cm wide grey tweedy fabric

  • 30 x 25cm rectangle of cream wool fabric

  • 15 x 10cm rectangle of lightweight black denim

  • Two 16.5mm black safety eyes Matching sewing threads

  • Toy filling

MAKING PAPER PATTERNS

On a photocopier, enlarge the patterns to 225%. Trace the patterns onto tracing paper, placing the gusset and snout on folded tracing paper, matching the broken lines to the fold. Mark the arrows, notches, crosses and dots. Cut out the patterns and open out flat.

CUTTING OUT

Cut one pair of ears, front heads, back heads, inner arms and outer arms and one gusset and two pairs of bodies from grey fabric. Cut one pair of ears, paws and foot pads from cream fabric. Cut one snout from black fabric. Snip the notches and mark the crosses and dots on the wrong side of the pieces with a pencil.
