FIGHT THE FRIZZ

Nothing dampens our mood more than our perfectly imagined hairstyle metamorphosing into a frizzy mess. Battling it out with a straightener or a curler may seem like the answer to all frizzy hair woes, but using these tools excessively leads to damage, making our hair weaker and brittle. So, here’s how to combat hair frizz?

PILLOW TALK

Here’s a little secret that movie stars and hairstylists have known for a while. Sleeping on a silk pillow enhances the quality of your hair. Due to its smooth texture, the hair faces little friction thereby preventing entangling or tugging. Moreover, cotton pillowcases absorb the natural moisture and oil leading to dry and dull hair. Try using a silk scarf as a pillowcase for a week before investing in one.

INVEST IN A GOOD SHAMPOO

Sulfates in shampoos are harsh for hair health. Always use shampoos that are free of sulphates and parabens. Along with this, suggest your client to choose a shampoo with glycerine which helps tone down the frizz. Also, tell her not to rub the length of her hair when shampooing as this causes friction. Some shampoos are strong and it’s better to dilute them with a few drops of water rather than directly apply them on scalp.
