Summer brings with it a wave of excitement! The sun shines bright and this calls for a sweet escape to picturesque locations. While there is a lively vibe that lingers in the air, there exists a downside. With the summer and humudity comes a host of hair problems. Enter extremely dry and frizzy hair, oily roots, limp hair, an irritated scalp, and more. Summer hair woes are not to be trifled with. The harsh weather takes a drastic toll on one's tresses that these complications can only be fixed with the help of expert care. Fortunately, we have expert advice from your favourite haircare brands, and we bring you the low down on essential haircare tips ideal for this season. Here's what you need to keep in mind to make sure you have the best hair days yet.

POOLSIDE HAIR

A quick dip in the pool is a great way to cool off, but the havoc it wreaks on your hair is not. The chlorine present in the water, paired with the harsh sun is the cause of hair damage. Hair gets porous, dry, brittle, and colour-treated hair loses its shine as well. To keep your hair protected when going for a swim, Najeeb Ur Rehman–PPS Director, Schwarzkopf Professional, Henkel Beauty Care India says, “The best thing to do is wet the hair with tap water before going into the pool to prevent the hair from soaking up chlorine water. Once you are out of the pool, rinse the hair with a clarifying and deep-cleansing shampoo to take off any impurities. Then use a conditioner for two to five minutes. In case you are going to swim regularly, cover your hair with a swimming cap.”
