CATHERINE HOLTZHAUSEN
Catherine is a collage artist and illustrator who works with mixed media to embody a humorous and nurturing approach to the world. Her work initially evolved from the offcuts of other artworks. Using the discarded bits, she then incorporates textures through watercolor painting, oil-based mono typing, and collagraph printing.
For the Birds
‘I created this artwork during lockdown level 5 when I was longing to break out of my confined space and get back into the wild, overgrown mountains. During this time, I returned to simple pleasures, doing hobbies just for the love of it. For the Birds was prompted by the idea of all the wildlife wondering where the humans had gone, and the pianist singing the song of 2020 – a truly unbelievable year. If we hadn’t lived through it, we’d think it was for the birds.’

DOMINIQUE DICKS
Dominique’s style is modern, centred in realism, and inspired by film making legend Wes Anderson – like him, she has a keen eye for symmetrical composition and colour After studying fashion, Dominique naturally gravitated towards drawing women, with an emphasis on fresh and fun fashion.
In Bloom
‘I was thinking about the rise of gender-based violence during lockdown. It’s my hope that after all this, women can grow together and support one another – whether it’s friends or strangers. I’m hoping for a blossoming, colorful, fresh, and bright future for women. I see that future epitomized in spring.’
