Suddenly, instead of being the hunters, we were the hunted.

There have been rumours about Denbigh Asylum for years. Mostly about wicked things that happened to its patients.

It’s said some were caged up, others given barbaric treatments like frontal lobotomies. Ancient history now, though.

The asylum was closed over 20 years ago in 1995.

But there are other rumours, too. Rumours that the wards and corridors of the derelict asylum are haunted. That ghosts roam its grounds…

Electric shock

And those ghosts were the reason we were there that night in July 2015.

My husband Eddie, medium Mike Boyd, a few others and me, were exploring the old asylum by the light of our torches.

The three of us run a paranormal investigation group called Anubis.

Our aim – to find proof ghosts exist.

And what better place to do that than a haunted asylum?

Soon as we got there, we split into two teams to explore different parts of the building.

Me and my team found our way to the wing where once there’d been padded cells.

Now, though, the wing was covered in dust. Weeds were growing through the floor.

I set up my Ouija board to perform a seance. And I called out, hoping spirits might hear.

‘Oh my God!’ I cried, feeling the upturned glass start to spin across the Ouija board.

‘It’s spelling out David!’ I said.

And then, suddenly, a shock ran up my arm, like electricity.

With that, the glass flew into the air, smashing into pieces. We quickly decided to find the other team.

Teeth!
