The Isuzu D-Max (previously called the KB) is like a people’s choice award-winner – it sits third in the double-cab sales rankings behind the Hilux and Ranger, and it doesn’t top any of the feature categories. However, this blue-collar hero has a loyal cult following, especially among farmers, builders and other tradesmen. For good reason: Even though the interior is a little outdated and spartan, and the 2.5-litre engine hasn’t changed in years, it offers plenty of practicality, durability, and value.
