Dilijan National Park

In the beautiful country of Armenia, there are four protected national parks and the Dilijan National Park is one of them.

The national park was established in 2002 on a state nature reserve that was established in 1958. The national park spreads over an area of 240 sq.km. and is located very close to the historical Haghartsin Monastery in the north-eastern Tavush Province of the country.

The national park stretches over the slopes of the Pambak, Areguni, Miapor, Ijevan and Halab mountain ranges at the altitude of 1,070 to 2,300 metres above sea level. The mountain meadows above these altitudes do not belong to the national park. It has a rich biodiversity and is known for its pristine forest landscapes, medicinal water springs and natural and cultural monuments around. The River Aghstev and its tributaries, being the Hovajur, Shtoghanajur, Bldan, Haghartsin and Getik Rivers run through the national park.
