Swanky SIPS: Palmaz Vineyards
Swanky Retreats|Fall 2017

From the first glimpse of the distinctive, handcrafted label, the wine lover begins to understand the Palmaz family ethos: “Love the land, know the grape and make wine that honors both.”

Swanky SIPS: Palmaz Vineyards

To those familiar with the brand, a bottle of wine created by the Palmaz family evokes elegance, luxury, and the anticipation of pleasure on the palate. This was the intention of Dr. Julio Palmaz and his wife Amalia when they founded the winery. And so it remains today, as son Christian Gaston Palmaz and his sister Florencia continue the tradition started by their parents.

The Palmaz Family believes it’s the details that matter – large or small, all are important. Take for example the architectural of the winery, the history associated with the vineyard and the technology employed to complement nature and coax the best from each vine. These vineyards are lovingly cultivated so that their prize – the very best grapes can be harvested each year.

In its creative process, Palmaz represents the forefront of modern winemaking. Take for example the gravity-flow winery, the Cave, an entirely subterranean 100,000-square foot structure bored 22 stories down into the bedrock of Napa’s Mount George. The Cave has its own water-recycling treatment plant, which is a critical component of Palmaz’s commitment to sustainable viticulture.
