Key players of the Bangladesh tourism industry recently gathered in the capital,Dhaka, to review the tourism strategy of the country at the sixth Asian Tourism Fair, targeting sustainable tourism and boosting number of domestic and overnight visitors.
The sixth Asian Tourism Fair was inaugurated on September 28 at Dhaka, a day after World Tourism Day, to celebrate the occasion and promote sustainable tourism in Bangladesh. The three-day event was inaugurated by Rashed Khan Menon, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism, at the International Convention City, Basundhara (ICCB) where the fair was held. With 2017 being announced by United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) as the year for International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development, the theme of this year’s Asian Tourism Fair was along the lines of promoting sustainable regional connectivity.
The event witnessed presence of over 120 tour operators, travel agents, airlines, hotels and service providers from both private and public sectors of Bangladesh along with professionals from Indonesia and Philippines.

Malta to host first art biennale in 2024
