It is that time of year when another year comes to an end and New Year plans are underway. After a year of hectic work, most people want to get away to ring in the New Year. Our filmi folk are thinking the same. Just that they do it in style. The paparazzi are permanently placed at airports to click them. I pity the complete lack of privacy and the bitchy comments that follow about travel clothes and bad hair days. Over the years, they have mastered the art of travel. Especially travelling light. What can we learn from them? Or what can we learn from their boo-boos? Try these ten star tips for air travel.

THINK OF THE SECURITY CHECK IN ADVANCE

Chuck everything in a handy carry-on. Don’t make it bulky. And keep it hands free. Check out Ash and Abhishek. Bags on shoulders and strapped across the chest. Trick is to keep hands free so that you can deliver ‘one tight slap’ to potential groupers or bottom pickers. Not that their security guards will let that happen. Think of the computers, wallets and cell phones. You don’t want to waste your time or others’ to gawk at you while you empty pockets, purses and bags. Keep them ready for the security tray and breeze through like a star.

DRESS DARK TO NOT ATTRACT ATTENTION

If you want to get stopped at the airport on your way in or out, go for bright colours that will have the Immigration gawking and the customs stopping you for your choice of colour. Wear dark sunners all through the travel and resist eye contact with everyone. To avoid people approaching you, as soon as you see people who want to chat, take a selfie or whatever, simply remove your cell phone and chat to no one in particular. When people see you on a phone, they feel intrusive. All this said, colours that will have the Immigration gawking and the customs stopping you for your choice of colour. When in doubt about what to wear when travelling take a tip from SRK, Kareena, Ranbir and Katrina…wear black. It is safe and discrete.
