APPLE HAS UPDATED the iPad Pro line with an eight-core A12Z Bionic processor, “studio– quality” microphones and speakers, a second camera, and a depth-sensing LiDAR scanner.
Joining the 12MP f/1.8 Wide camera is a new 10MP f/2.4 Ultra-Wide camera. This “doubles the photo and video possibilities, enabling different perspectives and multi-camera use” — so both cameras can be in use at once?
The LiDAR scanner measures the distance to objects up to 16.4ft away and builds up a 3D map, enabling an improved Measure app and new potential for AR. Coming uses include a mobility assessment app for physical therapy, an IKEA room furnishing visualization AR app, and an automatic floorplan and 3D room model creator.
