Considering our long association with the FA Cup, having first entered the competition in 1894/95, encounters against Norwich City aren’t that common – and wins even less so!
Tonight’s fifth-round clash will be just the seventh game between the two sides in the famous old competition, with two of the previous occasions coming in replays. So far, the Canaries hold the upper hand having won three ties and we’ve only emerged victorious on one occasion – a 2-0 win at Carrow Road in 1992/93.
Norwich were still a Southern League side when we first crossed swords in the FA Cup back in 1914/15. We were a Division One side at the time, but that didn’t stop them recording a famous second-round victory with a 3-2 win at their old The Nest ground.

OBITUARY – JOHNNIE HILLS
We were saddened to hear of the passing of John ‘Johnnie’ Hills, a defender who spent 11 years at the Club as an amateur and professional between 1950-61. He passed away at home in Brussels, Belgium, on Friday, 26 November, aged 87.
