CAPTAIN Tom Abell says his Somerset side must dust themselves down and refocus if they are to end their 124-year barren run in the County Championship this week.
The Cidermen’s bid for a first ever Championship crown suffered a huge setback when Kyle Abbott’s record 17-wicket match haul saw them spin to a shock defeat to Hampshire this week, allowing 2017 champions Essex to take top spot with victory over Surrey.
Now the two face off in a winner-takes-all Taunton contest starting tomorrow and Abell is hoping to channel the positive spirit of a Somerset side both expectant and hopeful of history being made.
