India captain Virat Kohli has featured in two World Cups — in 2011 and 2015 — but he will be leading the team in one for the first time, when the Men In Blue begin their campaign in England.
Ahead of the tournament, Kohli looked confident as he spoke on a range of issues in a pre-departure interaction.
On his expectations from the World Cup...
The only expectation we have is to play really good cricket and that’s been our focus and that’s where the results have followed in the last two-three years. We feel we go into the World Cup feeling very balanced, very strong as a side. If you saw the IPL as well all the players that are in the squad were in great form and were playing really well. I think from that point of view we expect ourselves to play the best cricket that we can every game and that’s about the only focus we will have and that will mean we will have to focus on the process also to be able to do that. That is the only expectation that everyone has on the team.
