HYPOTHETICAL HAS THE ANSWERS

CHELMSFORD December 13 (standard)

1m two-year-old novice (Class 3)

ABOVE AVERAGE RACE HYPOTHETICAL (John Gosden) isn’t the biggest but moves like a dream and had this in safe-keeping from the moment he hit the front at the furlong pole. This was a debut full of promise, the form already looks solid (runnerup London Arch won at Newcastle in early January) and he could be smart.

PLUMPTON December 16 (heavy)

2m novice hurdle (Class 4)

IMPRESSIVE WINNER

HIGHWAY ONE O TWO (Chris Gordon) looks the part and was heavily bet near the off on this hurdling debut. Tom Cannon always had him travelling strongly close to the pace and admitted afterwards he was surprised at how easily the gelding pulled clear. He bolted-up when returned to Plumpton three-weeks later and is developing into an above average performer. There’s a decent pot in this front-runner.

NEWBURY December 18 (soft)

2m110y maiden hurdle (Class 4)

ORDINARY RACE FOR THE TRACK ICONIC MUDDLE (Gary Moore) caught the eye at Fontwell on his previous start and was an attention grabber when finishing third here. The well made grey went on to chase a hot-pot home at Plumpton in early January and is certain to win races around the gaff tracks.

2m4f110y novice hurdle (Class 4)

SMART FORM

THE BIG BREAKAWAY (Colin Tizzard) cost a king’s ransom after winning an Irish point-to-point and looked a tiptop prospect as he ran away with this competitive event. There’s definitely room for him to strengthen and it isn’t difficult to envisage this big chestnut ending up a top class chaser in time.
