FIFTY50 IS STILL THE VERY ESSENCE OF THE GAME
There is still a lot to be said about Fifty50 cricket and next year will mark fifty years of ODIs since England and Australia played the first match at Melbourne in January 1971.

I have always maintained that even as the formats for cricket are getting shorter and shorter – from T-20 to T-10 and The Hundred (which consists of 100 balls aside) – there will always be a place for Fifty50 cricket and as such I was pleased to read Ian Chappell’s comments that the one day format is still relevant as it gives ample opportunity to the players to showcase their skills. Of course, Test cricket will always be around even as the doomsday pundits predict its slow death.
