REAL TEST ON ARTIFICIAL PITCH

CELTIC travel to Rugby Park this Sunday to take on Kilmarnock in what will be their second league game of the new campaign.

Neil Lennon’s side kicked off the defence of the title they’ve won for the past nine seasons with an impressive 5-1 victory over Hamilton Accies at Celtic Park. Kilmarnock, meanwhile, lost 2-1 to Hibernian at Easter Road, with Chris Burke scoring for the Ayrshire side.

This weekend’s clash will be the 234th league meeting between the sides. Celtic lead the way with 157 victories, while there have been 47 draws. Kilmarnock have recorded 29 wins, the most recent coming back in September 2018 with a 2-1 win at Rugby Park.

Ahead of Sunday’s game, we take a look at some previous games at the stadium, including Celtic’s first ever visit to Rugby Park…
