Reece Willison is enjoying his season with the reserves as well as the experience of sometimes training with the first team
THERE’S no shortage of quality throughout the Celtic reserve squad and the goalkeeping position is no exception. Reece Willison is another promising talent to emerge from the Celtic Academy, having joined the club in the summer of 2017 from St Mirren’s youth set-up.
Since then he has been steadily progressing under the close watch of Tommy McIntyre’s highly-experienced goalkeeping coach, Colin Meldrum. This season the 19-year-old stopper is stepping up his development as he rubs shoulders with the first-team Bhoys in training, and the Celtic View caught up with him to find out how the season is progressing…
How’s this season been for you so far?
Things are going well with the reserves. We’re in the Glasgow Cup final and we’re top of the league by two points, with only four games to go. We started quite slowly in the league, so to come back and be in the position we’re in now is excellent.
What have the last couple of weeks been like with the international break?
