I decided to do my first night on Wicks Mere, which has been on CAA’s books for over 20 years and holds many stunning fish up to around 41-42lb, the biggest of which is a long, dark, sought after common. As I went through the gate and drove down the field to the water’s edge I was pleasantly surprised how nice the Mere looked. I had a quick walk around and chatted to a couple of anglers on my way. As I walked along the far bank I noticed a number of carp topping, so that made my mind up where I was plotting up for the night.
